Summer 1999 Activities
Including the family picnic

Everything went as planned and everyone had a lot of fun. So, read this page in the past tense and imagine a lot of smiling faces.

Get out your calendars and set aside these dates before your busy summer schedule eats up every weekend between June 1 and Labor Day. The annual Chapter family camping to the Group Camp north of Kensington Park near Milford is set for the week of July 11-18. No, you do not have to come for a week! Most families plan 3-5 days, to include:

These two events are planned so that people may enjoy one or the other or both. Both events are close enough to Metropolitan Detroit (just 25 miles from Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi} so that those not into camping can sleep at home and drive out to enjoy any day event they choose. This is our fourth canoeing outing and third family camping expedition.

We have had so much fun in the past that we may be joined by some Tourette families from Ohio. They want to come for a week. This is why the large campsite is reserved starting July 11.

A few points of information:
This is a delightful wooded camp area on a river, but rustic.

All children planning to attend must be accompanied by at least one responsible adult. Insurance and liability issues prevent anyone from being responsible for anyone else`s child. Besides, have you ever tried to be responsible for 2, 3 or 10 children with Tourette Syndrome? Think about it! Legally, one is a child until age 18.

Unlike past years, every family or tent-group is responsible for their own groceries, supplies and cooking. Group events will include campfire, games, etc. We need to hear from you by June 15 if you are planning to camp or canoe. Call the Chapter information number, 248-577-0872 to RSVP or to get information, or use Tic With It@raindrops.net. There will be a map in the July newsletter.
